THE SHORT VERSION

Don’t be the Durak.

  1. Attack with any card. Further attacks must match a rank already on the table.
  2. Defend with a higher card of the same suit, or a trump. Only a higher trump beats a trump.
  3. Tap an uncovered attack to choose which card to cover, then tap a highlighted card in your hand.
  4. Can’t defend? Pick up. Others can still throw in matching ranks. A bout allows at most 6 attacks, never more than the defender’s starting hand.
  5. Pass when you have nothing else to add. When all pass, covered cards leave play; otherwise the defender takes the table and skips attacking.
  6. Draw back up to six, attacker first and defender last. When the deck is empty, empty your hand to escape. The last player with cards is the Durak.

Lowest trump attacks first. No transfers or trump-six exchange. All other active players may throw in, in clockwise order. AI difficulty changes strategy, not access to hidden cards.
